Earlier in the year we made the call to stick closer to the coast due to uncertainty around fuel supplies and prices. The great thing about that is we are getting to see areas that we normally just drive through trying to get out west or up north. Kicking off in the iconic Kenilworth we will zig zag up the coast with the first stop at the Theebine pub, then onto a Long Drive first, camping beside the beach in Burrum Heads, then up to Burnett Heads for more of the same before we turn west through Monto and out to Rolleston. We’ll then turn south to Taroom before swinging into the Burnett for a stop at Cherbourg, overnight in Murgon, down the Brisbane Valley to Blackbutt and then our last night in Kingaroy. These communities have seen it all, drought, flood, fire and mouse plagues – we’ll be doing our bit to give them a hand.
